Bent Viscaal’s maiden FIA Formula Three campaign draws to its conclusion this weekend as the HWA driver arrives at Sochi Autodrom for the final race weekend on the 2019 season.
Bent’s maiden FIA Formula 3 Championship campaign will reach its ending this weekend as the series arrives in Russia for the eighth and final race weekend of the 2019 season. Currently 15th in the Drivers’ Championship, Bent’s debut season has been a rollercoaster with Bent’s best result coming in the second race weekend of the season where he secured a fifth-place finish at Circuit Paul Ricard.
Bent will make his second appearance at the Sochi Autodrom this weekend having competed there in 2017 in the SMP F4 Championship - where Bent was able to secure two second-place finishes.
The 3.634-mile circuit is the third-longest circuit on the Formula Three calendar and is built around the Sochi Olympic Park on the Black Sea coast. Relatively low temperatures combined with a smooth track surface often means that Sochi is one of the easier tracks on tyre wear.
Looking ahead to this weekend, Bent is optimistic as he aims to end his year on a high in Sochi.
“This year has been full of mixed emotions but the aim this weekend is to end it on a high and hopefully with some points. I raced in Sochi in F4 in 2017, so I know the track but it will still be a new challenge in the F3 car. We’ve worked hard since Monza so we need to hit the ground running when we get to Russia if we want some points.”
