Dutch racing talent Bent Viscaal is aiming to delight at the Hungaroring this weekend as the FIA Formula 3 Championship heads to Hungary looking to continue his development in the support series for Formula 1.
Bent will be aiming to score championship points in an incredibly tight and competitive field as the HWA RACELAB driver looks to add to his points tally for 2019. So far this season, Bent has celebrated a memorable fifth-place finish at Paul Ricard, after starting from eighth on the grid in the first race of the weekend.
The last round at the Home of British Motorsport proved to be a more challenging event for the young driver from the Netherlands. After an issue in practice, qualifying was a tough test for Bent, marking a weekend to forget.
Keen to bounce back, this weekend Bent will be tasked with a 14-corner 2.377-mile track which is renowned for being notoriously difficult to overtake on in dry conditions. Bent, however, is no stranger to performing impressive overtakes at circuits on the calendar.
Last year in the EuroFormula championship, Bent scored a double-podium as well as a memorable pole position at the Budapest-based track in what was his maiden appearance at the venue.
“Silverstone was a tough round of myself, but I have had some time to reflect on the results and to practice on the simulator. I am prepared for the weekend and I am optimistic about what we can achieve.
“I had an excellent weekend here last year in EuroFormula with pole position and two podiums, so it is a track I know that I can be quick at. I cannot wait to get this weekend started!”
Bent’s Formula 3 weekend will kick off on Friday 2nd August with a free practice session. Qualifying will follow on Saturday at 09:00 (CEST) before the first race begins that evening at 16:45. The second race of the weekend will get underway at 10:00. Live-action will be shown across Sky Sports F1 (UK) and Ziggo Sport (Netherlands).
