RACING CARS, CHASING DREAMS

My love for everything that has wheels attached to it and races at high speed, was given to me by my father and grandfather, who raced in karting and on motorcycles respectively. My family has always been, and will always be, the back bone of my story. The Viscaals have supported me all the way, helped me with every problem and provided me with all the things I needed to get this far.

BENT VISCAAL AUTO RACING HISTORY

After winning the German Kart Championship, I decided to try my luck in auto racing. Safe to say I made the right choice!

2019-20

FIA Formula 3

Going round the outside in the final corner of the final lap of the race, winning the lot at Silverstone, was probably one of the best moves of my junior series career. I will never ever forget that winning feeling at such an iconic race venue.

2017-18

First seasons in auto racing

The first ever auto race I competed in, was held at the Sochi Autodrom. I finished in second place. At the end of my first year in racing, I captured vice championship honours in both the SMP Formula 4 and the Formula 4 Spanish Championship. A year on, I captured second place in both the Spanish F3 and the Euroformula Open championships.

2022 - NOW

Endurance Racing

Since 2022, I'm competing in endurance racing. I finished on the podium in my first ever ELMS race and captured Rookie of The Year honors at the end of my first endurance season.

2021

FIA Formula 2

For 2021, I made my debut in FIA Formula 2, driving for Trident Racing. Together, we made huge steps forward, climbing up from rock bottom to a solid midfield place. Two podium finishes, in Monza and Jeddah, were definitely the high point of my Formula 2 season.

MY STORY

Bent Max Calvin Viscaal was born on 18 September 1999 in Almelo, The Netherlands, in a region called Twente. At a young age, Bent fell in love with motor racing. When Bent celebrated his fifth birthday, his parents got him a mini-kart.

Sky was the limit for the young racer, who progressed quickly. At twelve years of age, Bent won the Euro Wintercup – Mini Junior and at age sixteen, he took first place in the German Kart Junior Championship. After twelve years in karting, Bent decided to step up to auto racing.

He started in 2017, competing in the Spanish and North European Formula 4 championships. Bent celebrated eight race wins in his first year of auto racing. In the final standings, Bent ended up second in het North European Formula 4 championship and third in the Spanish equivalent.

After that success, Bent joined Teo Martin Racing in the Euroformula Open. He secured twelve podium finishes in his first and only season in the series, one of those podium finishes being an outright victory. Bent finished the championship in second place, being the series’ best rookie. Once again Bent secured promotion.

For 2019, the Dutch driver signed with FIA Formula 3 team HWA Racelab, with which he was able to collect a points finish. In 2020, whilst driving for the MP Motorsport team, Bent celebrated his first race win in F3. After passing his opponent in the very last corner of the last lap, Bent was victorious.

After two seasons in FIA Formula 3, Bent competed with Trident Racing in the FIA Formula 2. Bent starred at the legendary Monza circuit, where he captured his first Formula 2 podium due to finishing second. Later on in the 2021 season, Bent and Trident repeated this achievement at the Jeddah Corniche Street Circuit in Saudi Arabia.

For 2022, Bent decided to switch to endurance racing. He came in with a bang by finishing second in his very first endurance race at the Paul Ricard circuit in France. After a rock-solid season, Bent was named ‘Rookie of The Year 2022’ of the European Le Mans Series season.

With this title under the belt, Bent promoted yet once more, this time towards the World Endurance Championship. In 2023, he drove the #9 Prema Racing car. Luck was not on Bent’s side as several top finishes were denied due to different circumstances, but all team members were impressed by his pace.
